Triangle Math and Science Academy offers a rigorous curriculum of college preparatory courses with a special focus on Math and Science. TMSA will graduate students prepared for enrollment in selective universities utilizing a variety of instructional opportunities such as AP, Pre-AP, PLTW and dual enrollment courses. All students will participate in academic and career planning by creating a 4-year plan through Naviance with the assistance of their counselor.
Juniors and Seniors that are interested in taking college classes and earning college credit at Wake Tech community college can enroll through the Career and College Promise program. Tuition is paid by the state of NC although students are responsible for fees, books, and transportation. Students may pursue college transferable courses or career/technical certifications. Advanced Placement courses allow students to take advanced, college-level courses. In addition to rigorous courses, students will take an end-of-course exam. Colleges and Universities have varying policies on the test score required to earn college credit.
The PLTW program at TMSA is a four year, honors and advanced level, interdisciplinary program in science, math, and engineering. Students will experience hands-on, project-based activities that promote the development of critical thinking skills. Students will use the design process to create their own inventions or innovations to solve real-world problems. Students that enjoy working collaboratively and are eager to be challenged academically will be most successful in this program.
